As a professional photographer, I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America (the “PPA”) as well as the local guild, Professional Photographers of Central Florida (the “PPCF”). I feel that it is so important to constantly learn, grow, and strive for continued excellence and challenge my knowledge and skillset. There is so much to know with the vast field of photography: lighting, equipment, posing, etc. let alone creativity, vision, and voice. I love surrounding myself with phenomenal artists who create beautiful imagery and who are also constantly striving to challenge themselves and grow. As part of this devotion to be the best artist I can be, I entered the world of photography competitions last year. Not only does competing help hone one’s craft and creative expression, it helps photographers work towards and earn their master of photography degree from the PPA and establish themselves among their peers. I got my feet wet last year and entered the local PPCF Salon Competition and won third place in the children’s category for this image! Competition was fierce and it’s pushing me to develop ideas for the coming competition season. I’m very excited to see all of the images this year!
Isn’t baby girl beautiful?? I love the color harmony in this image.
Here I am holding my ribbon. Takes me back to my 4-H days competing in flower arranging at the county fair!
And here is the image showing off one of my favorite products in the studio: the Fine Art Framed Print! The image is printed directly on fine art cotton paper, the edges are hand torn and the image is mounted and floating inside of the frame. All hand made by an artist in New Zealand. It is a true piece of heirloom art that will adorn your home for generations to come!
